What About the Motorist Driving their Car Into the Protestors?

Posted by Adam Graham on March 6, 2006

Liberal Idaho has this post up regarding pro-life protests in Nampa. The first part of the story has this line in it:

Abortion protesters say they will continue to gather along 12th Avenue Road the first Saturday of each month, despite a confrontation with a motorist on Friday.

Now, the excerpts goes on from there to complain about graphic signs in the neighborhood and “confrontation with a motorist” is just seemingly forgotten but they decided to creatively edit out a big part of the story:

The gatherings were uneventful until Friday, when a Nampa woman told police she attempted to block, with her car, a large sign that displayed a graphic image of an aborted fetus.

Gail Mower’s car pinned one protester’s foot against the sign, Nampa police said.

“I went to get the sign,” Lenette Jackson of Nampa said Saturday. “When my foot became stuck, we called 911.”

Jackson was not injured.

Tim Vincent, assistant chief in the Nampa Police Department, said Saturday that Mower faces a charge of disturbing the peace, and that additional charges are under review. Vincent said possible charges include aggravated assault or reckless driving.

So according to Liberal Idaho the story here is not that a loony liberal used her vehicle to suppress the 1st Amendment views of people she didn’t agree with, but rather that Brandi Swindell is daring to show her face in public. Ladies and gentlemen, what an irresponsible omission.

No condemnation of the act. Just lets pretend the biggest part of the story’s not there.

In response to one of the author’s comments on the protests:

Now, protesting I understand and support, but one question does beg of organizations who practice regularly scheduled on going protests; don’t any of these people have jobs?

Yeah, I know, how can these people have jobs and find a way to make it down to a protest every 1st Saturday of the Month. Everybody is working the 1st Saturday of every month.

Here’s a clue for these protests. Pro-Lifers want to have buddies on these protests, so they schedule a time that will work for everyone and work around jobs, life, school. Its not that difficult, particularly if its just an occassional thing.

In addition, when was the last time a liberal asked what Cindy Sheehan’s job was? Or about all the professional anti-war protestors out there?
The hypocrisy of the left astounds me.

Death Threats on Boise Student

Posted by Adam Graham on March 6, 2006

From Human Events U, a report that a Boise State University Student has received a death threat:

The Network of College Conservatives (NCC) has learned, via a student complaint, of a death threat made against Brandon Stoker, president of the College Republicans and student senator at Boise State University. The threat, written anonymously on a bathroom stall in the school library, read:

“Brandon Stoker needs to be shot.”
“Yeah, and bill his family for the bullet!!!”

Stoker said he immediately informed a member of the library staff. He requested the words be “promptly removed” from the stall and filed a complaint with campus security. But the threat has remained on the wall for weeks! In fact, Stoker says he made three complaints to library employees over a four-week period before the words were finally painted over.

Why isn’t Brandon’s case getting more attention? It would if he were gay:

“Interestingly, in March of 2005, when a gay student leader received a death threat, which, admittedly, was more serious and threatening in nature, the administration and the university were QUICK to condemn the act. Public relations campaigns were launched preaching tolerance and support for the gay community. Yet, when conservatives are victimized by similar treatment, the administration is silent,” says Stoker.

Well, I’m spreading the word. I’ll write a Letter to the Editor when I get home tonight. The idea of threats of violence being used against political opponents is unacceptable and has to be dealt with.
