The Ad Hominem Assault of the Week

Posted by Adam Graham on March 21, 2006

Binky Boy at 43rd State Blue began a blog article with an Ad Hominem attack against Bryan Fischer:

I’m sure Mr. Fischer, a–h— extraordinare, will be updating his post with some sort of proof that homosexual behaviors are riskier than heterosexual behaviors, especially when you compare the rates of infection and/or suicide between the two groups. And we’ll see that when? Oh yeah, when Mr. Fisher’s own personal hell freezes over.

Well, here’s some information:

The risk of anal cancer soars for those engaging in anal intercourse. According to one report, it rises by an astounding 4000%, and doubles again for those who are HIV positive.[iiib]

Can anyone refute that anal intercourse tears the rectal lining of the receptive partner, regardless of whether a condom is worn, and the subsequent contact with fecal matter leads to a host of diseases?

Diseases to which active homosexuals are vulnerable can be classified as follows:

Classical sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, infections with Chlamydia trachomatis, syphilis, herpes simplex infections, genital warts, pubic lice, scabies); enteric diseases (infections with Shigella species, Campylobacter jejuni, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, ["gay bowel disease"], Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and cytomegalovirus); trauma (related to and/or resulting in fecal incontinence, hemorroids, anal fissure, foreign bodies lodged in the rectum, rectosigmoid tears, allergic proctitis, penile edema, chemical sinusitis, inhaled nitrite burns, and sexual assault of the male patient); and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).[iv]

Can anyone refute that increased morbidity and mortality is an unavoidable result of male-with-male sex–not to mention the increased rates of alcoholism, drug abuse, depression, suicide and other maladies that so often accompany a homosexual lifestyle?[v] People with this whole cluster of behavior patterns are somehow “normal”?

Wow, seems pretty conclusive. Binkyboy begins with an Ad Hominem, does no research and states an opinion. Perhaps, he should have read his own opening sentence before posting this piece.

Ah, if not for their opinions, they would have nothing, and in having nothing, would seek to take it from others.

Keenan for Senate

Posted by Adam Graham on March 21, 2006

In 1993, I met Conrad Burns in a parade for Republicans March into the 21st Century. I came to his events in the 1994 Senate Campaign. I voted to re-elect him in 2000. However, with the talk of the Abramoff scandal, its time for him to go.

Republicans in Montana face a choice, but its not between Burns and his Republican challenger State Senate Minority Leader Bob Keenan. It is between defeat and victory. Republicans can win or they can lose. Keenan’s far from perfect, but Burns is just an albatross around the neck of state Republicans at this point.

Keenan for Senate.

Worship for the Wrong Reasons

Posted by Adam Graham on March 21, 2006

Stories like this one just rub me the wrong:

– A new type of reality television program called “Voices of Joy” will be launched today in a nationwide quest to find America’s most exciting church choir. The competition will pit church choirs from 12 key markets against one another in an intense, but inspiring, series of regional events this spring, followed by nationally televised weekly programs this fall. Over $1.3 million in educational scholarships will be awarded to choirs as they advance in the competition, with the winning group receiving $500,000.

Church music groups across the country are encouraged to submit a tape or DVD of three songs by May 15, 2006 (additional entry information is available on www.voicesofjoytv.com). Eight choirs will be selected from the overall applicants in each of the 12 markets and will be invited to perform in front of a panel of judges in areas including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston, Washington DC and Detroit. One winning Church choir in each market will be invited to represent their city and compete in the nationally-televised competition this fall, where they will be judged by a panel of experts and the viewing public.

So the Choirs won’t be about worship, they’ll be about scholarship money? The great concern with Christian Music today is when the focus gets off of Christ and onto the Musical Talent. I’m okay with Christian American Idol like shows but doing it with a choir is too much, because it turns the Worship of God by a Church into something that’s about material gain and status.

I have an idea. Instead of this, have a competition for the country’s most humble choir. Everyone who sends an entry loses.
