Something That’s Got to Change

Posted by Adam Graham on April 3, 2007

From KIDK:

After more than a year of delays..Idaho falls hypno-therapist, Barry Tegeler…finally meets his fate.
Judge Peggy Stanford, sentenced Tegeler to a minimum of 120 days in county jail…and four years probation for molesting his patients while they were being hypnotized.

During that time, Tegeler is forbidden to practice hypno-therapy….or have any job where he will be in a one on one setting. Treatment will be an integral part of Tegeler’s incarceration.

This isn’t Tegeler’s first go-round of battery charges. As Part of a plea deal in 2003, He was given probation for battery.
As the law stands now…regardless of how the number of battery charges on Tegeler’s record sexually molesting an adult will never be considered a felony offense.

Pickett and Judge Stanford believes Tegeler’s crimes should be considered a felony offense and that our Legislature needs to do to do a better job at protecting women.

I would agree on that.

Elevating Chastity

Posted by Adam Graham on April 3, 2007

LaShawn Barber hits the nail on the head:

The reasons for abstaining from sex until marriage are larger than avoiding pregnancy or disease. Abstinence should be elevated above mere self-control and delayed gratification. In order for chastity to be meaningful, one has to believe that he/she is being obedient to God, that the sexual act itself has a spiritual purpose ordained by God and intended for two people united in marriage.

I’ll have to be honest, I never quite thought of it that way.

About the Secret Ballot

Posted by Adam Graham on April 3, 2007

Some people have insisted that party registration would violate the secret ballot, now one exasperated liberal complains about Rep. Tom Loertscher stopping a bill for mail-in voting:

And now he’s opposed to a move that was wildly popular, would have saved money, and would have increased voting rates statewide because he thinks voting is too easy!? And aren’t we ALL already regularly lamenting that voting matters less and less for Americans, based on dwindling voter turnouts!?

Of course, mail in voting would also increase vote fraud, deny the secrecy of the ballot (who is Mrs. James voting for. Let me check her outgoing mail and I’ll find out.) and can make ballot counting take longer, but by all means let’s do it anyway. It’s widely popular as I’ve seen the marches of thousands demanding it, clamoring in the streets. Indeed, it was a miracle that a pitch-fork armed mob didn’t storm the Capitol after it died in committee.

I urge readers to check out No Vote by Mail and to listen to this interview I did with a liberal opponent of mail in voting.

It’s Time to Do Something About Global Warming
