When Family Television Was Good

Posted by Adam Graham on June 9, 2007

Been a bit nostalgic for some of the good family TV shows of the past. Some think they stopped making those about the 1970s. But Pat Robertson’s Family Channel got into the business of making original series and they made a couple gems in Zorro and Bordertown.

Both series had good action, great writing, and some fantastic plots. Zorro’s run was just shy of 100 episodes, while Bordertown ran 78 episodes. The former is only available on two VHS tapes if you can find them used. So, you can see the beginning and end of the series, the middle forget about it. As for Bordertown, you can see a much better selection of it than Zorro, with the 2nd and 3rd episodes from the first season, and the entire third season on one DVD. Don’t ask me why they packaged it that way.

It’s annoying that why shows like “All in the Family,” “Ellen,” and other dribble gets introduced to DVD frequently, family shows get left behind.
