The Liberal North End v. Compassion

Posted by Adam Graham on January 21, 2007

Clayton Cramer has sad, yet disturbing information on the North End liberals attempts to evict the Booth House, a homeless shelter taking in families in the North End. Clayton writes of them:

You know, concerned about people in need…as long as they don’t intrude on their little oasis of wealth and privilege…

It’s very true. The need in Boise for the services of groups like Booth House is great. We need these organizations. As Clayton suggests, the problems cited by the so called “Booth House Neighbors” can be addressed by enforcing current law, not by shutting down the shelter.

Of course, the organization is mis-named “Booth House Neighbors” is a poor name for a group trying to close down a homeless shelter. After telling the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus spoke:

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?”

And he said, “He that showed mercy on him.” Then said Jesus unto him, “Go and do thou likewise.”-Luke 10:36, 37

Clayton Cramer has pictures in the neighborhood. Also, I was mistaken with initially referring to the City Council. This will be before the Planning and Zoning Commission. They will be meeting in Council Chamber at City at 6:00 PM. If you can make it, you can let your voice be heard. I don’t think I shall be able to do with my work schedule being what it is.
